Observation Decks
There are two observation decks where you can enjoy stunning views of the city: Skydeck and 360 Chicago.
Skydeck. It’s located on the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower and it’s one of the most popular attractions in the city. The highlight of the experience is the Ledge, a glass box that extends four feet from the side of the building, giving a thrilling sensation of being suspended in mid-air, but be prepared for long wait times to access it.

Opening Hours: It varies by season but generally it’s open daily from 9am-10pm.
Entrance Fee: Adults $30 and Child $22.
360 Chicago. This is another popular attraction and it’s located on the 94th floor of the John Hancock Center. When you come don’t miss the TILT experience, where you can lean out over the city from a glass-enclosed platform. As the Ledge, be prepared to wait in line to access it.

Opening Hours: It’s open daily from 9am-11:00pm.
Entrance Fee: Adults $30 and Child $20. The Tilt experience is an extra $9-$10.
Tips for both observation decks: Purchase your tickets in advance to secure your spot, arrive early in the day or later in the evening to avoid crowds, and bring a camera!
Millennium Park
Millennium Park is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to Chicago. It’s located in the heart of downtown and it features a variety of attractions, including the famous Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), the Crown Fountain, and the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. You can also take a leisurely stroll through its several gardens, have a picnic on the Great Lawn, and enjoy some of the seasonal events.
Architecture Boat Tour
Taking an architecture boat tour in Chicago is a popular and exciting way to see the city’s famous skyscrapers and other notable buildings. There are several tour operators to choose from, including the Chicago Architecture Center River Cruise and Wendella Boats. The time, price and dock varies depending which one you choose. I would recommend to check them to see which one suits you the best and to book your tickets in advance, especially during peak tourist season.
DuSable Bridge
DuSable Bridge is a drawbridge that spans the Chicago River and connects the Magnificent Mile to the Loop. The bridge offers stunning views of the river and the surrounding architecture, including the Wrigley Building and the Tribune Tower. This is a good spot to start your tour around the city as it’s closed to most attraction and you can also take the architecture boat tour from here.
Navy Pier
Navy Pier is a popular tourist destination that features a variety of attractions, including a Ferris wheel, a carousel, an IMAX theater, and a children’s museum. The pier also offers stunning views of Lake Michigan and the city skyline.
North Avenue Beach
North Avenue Beach is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, and people-watching. The beach offers spectacular views of the city skyline and is home to several volleyball courts, a beach house, and a concession stand.
Honeycomb
The Honeycomb is a unique art installation that consists of a series of hexagonal cells and it’s a popular spot for photos. It’s located in the Lincoln Park, which provides a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. You can also visit Lincoln Park Zoo while you are in this area.
Greetings from Chicago Mural
Located in Logan Square, the Greetings from Chicago Mural is a colorful and iconic mural that features the city’s skyline and various Chicago landmarks. The mural is a popular spot for photos and has become a symbol of the city’s vibrant arts scene.
Chicago Riverwalk
This place is perfect for capturing stunning photos and taking in the city’s skyline. It’s located on the side of the DuSable Bridge and you can seat and enjoy something to eat or drink while watching the boats passed by.
Landmark Buildings
Wrigley Building. Located on Michigan Avenue, the Wrigley Building is an iconic example of Chicago’s early skyscrapers. The building’s striking white exterior and clock tower make it a standout landmark of the city’s skyline.
The Chicago Theater. This is a landmark of the city’s cultural scene. It features a distinctive marquee and an ornate interior that includes a grand staircase and a ceiling decorated with thousands of twinkling lights. You can attend a show and experience the city’s vibrant arts and culture scene.
